Natalie Berry is an editor at UKClimbing.com and a freelance journalist with work published in The New York Times, The Guardian, The Financial Times (HTSI), The Independent, The Times, Geographical, WIRED UK and Alpinist Magazine. She is also a translator with three published book projects to her name (To Live, Bleau Blocs, Mont Blanc Lines), alongside commercial and editorial work for clients including Monaco Tribune.

Natalie’s writing was listed among notable essays and literary non-fiction of 2019 in the Best American Essays 2020 anthology and top-10-shortlisted in the AIPS Sport Media Awards 2023. She has served as jury member for the Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature and the Banff Mountain Book Festival competition.

Having represented Great Britain at both junior and senior level in climbing competitions and achieved difficult ascents on rock, Natalie brings her expertise to outdoor and adventure writing. She was an accredited Sport Climbing reporter at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Natalie adapts her journalistic curiosity to a range of subjects, with a particular interest in human interest, global affairs, science and travel stories.

She is supported by Mountain Equipment, La Sportiva, Petzl and Ellis Brigham.
