About
I’m an Edinburgh-based freelance journalist and copywriter covering travel, science, climate, environment, adventure and strong human stories around the world. My reporting has appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, the Financial Times (HTSI), The Times, The Independent, National Geographic Traveller UK, WIRED UK, The National, Ukrainska Pravda and New Lines Magazine, among others.
My work has been recognised by Best American Essays, the AIPS Sport Media Awards and Longreads.com, whose staff kindly selected one story as an Editor’s Pick. In 2025, I was an IWMF Ukraine Fellow, completing the “Women on the Ground: Reporting from Ukraine’s Unseen Frontlines” programme.
Previously, I was Editor-in-Chief of UKClimbing.com and competed internationally as a member of the GB Climbing Team. I reported as an accredited journalist for Sport Climbing at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
While I’m curious about many subjects, I’m especially interested in stories that sit at the intersection of place, people and power.
