I'm an Edinburgh-based international freelance journalist, editor and copywriter reporting on travel, current affairs, adventure, climate and the environment, with a particular interest in stories at the intersection of place, people and power.

My reporting has appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, Financial Times HTSI, The Times, The Independent, National Geographic Traveller, WIRED, The National, Ukrainska Pravda and New Lines Magazine, among other outlets. I report from the field as well as writing profiles, features, investigations and event coverage.

In 2025, I was selected as an IWMF Ukraine Fellow, completing the Women on the Ground: Reporting from Ukraine’s Unseen Frontlines programme. I have also reported as an accredited journalist from the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. My work has been recognised by Best American Essays, the AIPS Sport Media Awards and Longreads.com, who selected one of my stories as an Editor’s Pick.

Previously, I was Editor-in-Chief of UKClimbing.com, where I spent a decade reporting and commissioning stories across climbing and the wider adventure world. Before becoming a journalist, I competed internationally as a member of the GB Climbing Team, winning national titles.

Alongside journalism, I work as an editor and copywriter for international businesses and organisations, and have translated three books from French into English.
